Still Life Reinterpreted, 2015

My work in the eighties was all still life on canvas, painted from life, so it was a surprise to see this subject return.

In 2015, I did  two homages to Bonnard previously  pictured here, along with other still lifes from imagination, using collage, monotype, and paint.

For the past two years I have explored this idea of the objects on a surface. In the way I reduced landscape to the elemental horizontal line, I seem to be reducing the object to its most basic form.
